Almost all the hatefulness, including "God hates Jews" is from John. If you read the scholarship on what Jesus said (vs. what people like John and Paul said he said) it bears no resemblance to what so called Christians espouse. In "Mere Christianity," C.S. Lewis uses the metaphor of a shaft of light penetrating into an otherwise dark room. What so-called Chrstians do is study the dirt on the floor that is illuminated instead of looking to the source of the light.
